General Information:
Welcome to my site and thank you for browsing. My name is Fay Frost BA (Hons) PGCE BCCSDip.DogBhv . I have been teaching since 1993 either as an instrumental teacher or as a classroom teacher. Along the way I have also self-published a children's book called "Sioux's Mini Adventures" and taken up photography as a hobby - perhaps it's the creative artist in me that likes to dabble in all things fun and artistic! Below I will go into more detail about my experiences. My other passions are riding our motorbikes, sled dog racing, arts and crafts and more recently working to pace myself due to having ME (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis) and Fibromyalgia .... very difficult when you have to keep active with twelve Siberian Huskies! I am based in South Devon, mostly Torbay area. Contact: fayfrost@virginmedia.com |
Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching flute, piano, keyboard and theory since 1993 and set up my own part-time business visiting schools, homes and performing as a musician. I attended Dartington College of Arts where I gained my degree in Music and Arts Management; I then moved on to Rolle College of Education to achieve my PGCE in 1999. I also have an advanced certificate in performing the flute through the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music.
I worked part-time as a Music, Drama and English teacher at Knowles Hill School, Newton Abbot, before moving onto Paignton Community and Sports College as a full-time Music and Drama teacher. My latest position has been at Torquay Academy where I have taught nearly all the subjects available and helped develop the Opening Minds curriculum, as well as being a Head of Year for nearly 5 years.
I now work part-time, self-employed, due to my health as I have ME and Fibromyalgia.

Pet Sitting Experience:
As mentioned earlier, I have 12 Siberian Huskies that train to race in the UK, have been devoted charity raisers doing demonstrations and Hug-A-Huskies, with one also being a 'Pets As Therapy' dog. I have qualified as a canine behaviourist with distinction, along with Holistic Health for Pets.

Photography Experience:
My father loved photography and I always remember him carrying his camera everywhere we went. After his passing I took over his camera but I just couldn't get my head around the old film cameras, but years later I picked up a digital camera for a hobby and from there I was able to gain experience in taking macro images, wildlife, pets and events - especially Husky Racing events as this is another one of my hobbies - it all happened by chance and I even ended up as an Official Press Officer at a couple of events. I have sold many photos to raise money for charity, and I have had two separate photos published in the Your Dog Magazine in 2014 and several in Breed Club Magazines.
