Thank you to fellow AMWA member for the picture.
Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching flute, piano, keyboard and theory since 1993 and set up my own part-time business visiting schools, homes and performing as a musician. I attended Dartington College of Arts where I gained my degree in Music and Arts Management; I then moved on to Rolle College of Education to achieve my PGCE in 1999. I also have an advanced certificate in performing the flute through the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music.
I worked part-time as a Music, Drama and English teacher at Knowles Hill School, Newton Abbot, before moving onto Paignton Community and Sports College as a full-time Music and Drama teacher. My latest position has been at Torquay Academy where I have taught nearly all the subjects available and helped develop the Opening Minds curriculum as well as being a Head of Year for nearly 5 years.
I am now moving back into part-time work in order help improve my health and cope with my ME, Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, so therefore I am going back to my roots of instrumental teaching, but I still have a passion to work in some way with the children who have special needs.
